WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE!

Updated: Jun 23, 2018

Thanks for checking out Healthy Kids First’s brand new website. We’ve jazzed things up and added a few features, so we hope you’ll visit us often. And please, tell your friends, family, co-workers, classmates – in short, everyone you know – where to find us. By creating a widespread “community of caring,” nothing can stop us from achieving our mission!

Now for some news: Healthy Kids First is proud of the changes we’re generating in our local communities. We’ve made great strides in teaching children and families about nutrition, budget-conscious meal planning, and best of all, how to rethink their overall approach to food. Better choices are healthier choices, and the creative, interactive presentations designed by our own Chef Ayesha Renee have helped lots of people adopt easy and doable ways to break the cycle of poor eating habits.

You might think that eating healthy is hard, or even boring. But Healthy Kids First has proven that it can be easier than you think. For example, maybe you love French fries. Something as simple as swapping your fast-food fries for a baked, slightly crisp, all-natural potato is not only better for you, it tastes great! Add a little sea salt and some spices, and we promise that you won’t miss those fries for long. Do you have a sweet tooth? No problem! Try skipping the candy bar and reach for a fresh fruit with a spoonful of natural nut butter. It’s delicious, good for your heart, and less expensive! Give it a try and tell us what you think.

Along with our teaching initiatives, we recently introduced our new Take-a-Bite program that’s been going strong. Expanding our mission to include feeding food- insecure children in NYC, we’ve been bringing weekend meals to kids who depend on school lunches as their main food source. So far, we have worked with faith communities, shelters, and after-school programs in greater New York Metro to deliver our portable brown bag meals. Sadly, the need for this kind of assistance is strong, but that only makes us even more focused and determined to inspire change. Would you like to join us in putting an end to childhood hunger? We have lots of ways that you can take part in the Healthy Kids First experience. Visit our “Help” page for more information on how you can make a difference! So thanks again for visiting Healthy Kids First. Tell us what you think about our website, our programs, and how we can join forces to help end childhood hunger and ensure that all kids can enjoy a safe and healthy future!
